Little Caravan to Alejandro Cavit Orphanage
We visited Alejandro Cavit Orphanage this past Saturday 20th..we left early in the morning (6 am) the border was busy and luckly we where not stopped and were able to cross with everything we were bringing to the children…We stopped at Costco in Tijuana and bought them pizzas and apple juice and went on are way to see them, they were so happy to see us as we were happy to see them..they helped us get everything in the house and I went with the dad to buy the plywood we promised to get them to build the wall they needed rebuild ASAP to avoid getting the orphanage shut down by the government, we got them enough plywood to do wall and at least that part of the ceiling, this is as much we were able to do in a week… But they were so grateful, they were expecting us with a little show they had prepared.. So we stayed with them until early afternoon and left with a happy heart….
I have to say it was a very challenging week for Iris and me.. We worked so hard trying to touch people’s heart to help the these children… It makes me very sad that this is such a challenge when every one is some how connected to a child and they would not want anything like this for the children they are connected to….
Iris thought me a lesson on the way to Tijuana.. She said Claudia there is a big difference between Compassion and Pity and you can never teach compassion, but pity every one will have for them….Sad don’t you think? I guess that is why we did not have a caravan:(
Thank you Iris we could have not made this trip possible without you!! Now lets go and find those compassionate people because we have a long way to go…….
Blessings to those that in any way contribute the the transformation of a child’s life.. the Children need you.
